Re: Sample demonstrating the 128 midi-instruments Reply #2 – 2003-05-02 02:20 pm There is an XG patch file that should do the trick for you on The NWC Scriptorium. Delete all but the first staff (using CNTL-D; select the lowest staff, and press CNTL-D until all are gone but the first one) and re-save it under a new filename. Quote Selected
Re: Sample demonstrating the 128 midi-instruments Reply #3 – 2003-05-02 05:36 pm It's not a single noteworthy file, but I do have a series of 128 MIDI files that try to demonstrate each of the 128 instruments. I found it on the web labeled as MIDITest. Each file is an arrangement, so it's not just the individual instrument, but the instrument playing in context with other instruments. If you've got winamp, for example, you can unzip the files to a directory, and then use winamp to jukebox through them, or select them individually. If you want a copy, let me know and we'll figure out a way to get it to you. Also, if there's enough interest, I'll see what I can do about importing them into NWC and having inline instrument changes. Thanks,John Quote Selected
Re: Sample demonstrating the 128 midi-instruments Reply #4 – 2003-06-22 09:51 pm If you have a MIDI keyboard, it doesn't take 5 minutes to play four/five notes, and press the 'style up' key (Mine has the number pad to select, plus + and -). This inputs to NWC as selecting the instrument. I can post the file here if anyone wants it, but I will have to find out how/where. Quote Selected
