Different Drum Kits/Sets 2002-12-12 07:06 pm When I create a staff with Percussion on it (Channel 10), i can only get 'Standard Drum Kit'. How do I get the 'Brush drumkit', 'Jazz drumkit' etc.? Quote Selected
Re: Different Drum Kits/Sets Reply #1 – 2002-12-12 07:56 pm When a sound card/MIDI synthesizer supports different drum kits, it usually does so via patch number changes sent on channel 10. If your synth says it supports different drum kits, then you should refer to its manual for details on how to activate them (what MIDI messages need to be sent to change kits). Quote Selected
Re: Different Drum Kits/Sets Reply #2 – 2002-12-12 11:42 pm In other words, select "Electric Brass (finger)" instrument for the Channel 10 staff and, with luck, you should have Jazz drumkit (NWC sends MIDI change program #33).AFAIK, the list of drumkits and instruments for Ch 10 is this:Standard - Acoustic Grand PianoRoom - CelestaPower - Hammond OrganElec - Acoustic Guitar (nylon)Jazz - Electric Brass (finger)Brush - ViolaOrchestra - String Ensemble 1SFX - Trumpet.HTH Quote Selected

Re: Different Drum Kits/Sets Reply #5 – 2002-12-20 01:58 am Seems to be people who wouldn't know what an Electric Bass is. An Electric Bass is an Electric Guitar that plays sounding kinda like a tuba, actually. Quote Selected
Re: Different Drum Kits/Sets Reply #6 – 2002-12-20 11:25 pm Really? Here I thought an Electric Bass was a plug-in fish. Quote Selected
Re: Different Drum Kits/Sets Reply #7 – 2002-12-21 04:33 am You're thinking of an electric eel. Billy Bass, the singing fish, is battery-powered. Quote Selected

Re: Different Drum Kits/Sets Reply #14 – 2003-02-05 12:30 am I understand. What sound card do you use?On my AWE32 you get effects by selecting any patch no. between 57 and 127 on channel 10.These patch numbers are 1 based. For 0 based subtract 1.I don't need to change controller numbers. Each effect appears at a different note position.
