(piano) keyboard input

Hi

Having upgraded my PC to a nice new system with a
very decent sound card I would like to take NWC a
step further by entering musical lines through a
proper keyboard.

Playback through the PC is good quality (XG, 5.1) and
so I don't see the need for an expensive MIDI keyboard
that can make lots of its own sounds; I'd really only
be using the keyboard to record *notation* (rather than
specific sounds). On the other hand, as a piano player,
I'd want several octaves.

Does anyone have any recommendations?
I'm in NZ so probably stuck with what the major
companies have to offer.

Thanks
Trevor

I use a 49 key (4 octave)3/4 size Midiman "Keyman" keyboard.
No frills - octave shift - velocity preselect - channel select - patch select only.
Suits me for note input.
Wouldn't suit a pianist - strictly note entry only and sound through the sound card only.
