(piano) keyboard input 2002-12-11 02:28 am HiHaving upgraded my PC to a nice new system with avery decent sound card I would like to take NWC astep further by entering musical lines through aproper keyboard.Playback through the PC is good quality (XG, 5.1) andso I don't see the need for an expensive MIDI keyboardthat can make lots of its own sounds; I'd really onlybe using the keyboard to record *notation* (rather thanspecific sounds). On the other hand, as a piano player,I'd want several octaves.Does anyone have any recommendations?I'm in NZ so probably stuck with what the majorcompanies have to offer.ThanksTrevor Quote Selected
Re: (piano) keyboard input Reply #1 – 2002-12-11 08:52 am I use a 49 key (4 octave)3/4 size Midiman "Keyman" keyboard. No frills - octave shift - velocity preselect - channel select - patch select only.Suits me for note input.Wouldn't suit a pianist - strictly note entry only and sound through the sound card only.
