Different staffs during choir song

How to do the following:
I have the verses of the song sung by soloist and
the choruses by four-voice choir under the soloist.
Is there a way to write the notation so that only the
soloist staff appears for the verses (not with rests
appearing below) and then during the choruses I have
three staffs:the soloist,soprano/alto,bass/tenor.
The usual way fills three pages and this variation should
fill only two pages of paper.

Add your voice to the wish list, Martti.
For now, some people have done some interesting things with two goes at printing, one with and one without all parts.
Seems silly, but for now, scissors and paper may yield a very good result.
Once you've photocopied, no one will know (except you).

I have managed with two different printings. To avoid the use of scissors and paste, copy the appropriate page on to the clipboard from the 'preview' option, then paste into a DTP progam. You can then position two separate 'graphic' pieces of the music so no one would notice.
For DTP I use Pagemaker 6.5, and the pasting from the clipboard need to be special, as 'windows metafile'.

It is also possible to use any text editor that
supports .WMF format. I did this on a score which
had three different formats of scores, and I put it in
a simple Word document. The small inconvenient is that
the margins are counted twice (one to preview-print into
a .wmf (use copy in preview window) and a second time when
printing the document (MSWord at elast is silly about this
(and about many others too))

Hope this helps.
But yes, it could be much more easier if directly possible in NWC ! :-)
The question is, in what form to allow this (being as convenient as
the GUI is until now may no be easy !)

NWCly yours,

I am aware of the cutting and glueing stuff especially when
I try to fit the entire song with keyboard staffs to a page
with no keyboard staffs.
I try to apply the word-processor phase to my routine of
making soloist movements in a score.
Thanks
