play 1 thing, hear another

I play something on my keyboard. I watch notes spread across my pc screen. then I hit play......! That's not what I played. What am I not doing?

Be more specific. If its the rythmn that is wrong, you may have to tweek the midi import setting to acount for the fact the it is nearly impossible to play exactly on the beat. Otherwise, it could be a faulty MIDI cable.

You probably are using step time entry, rather than real time recording. See faq #53 for details.
