NWC to CD

Well, I've never see it mentioned here before, but does everyone realize that you can make CDs that will play on any CD player with NWC music that you have typed in or recorded?  It's a little complex, but it works fine if you gots the right programs.

Just type or record your music in NWC and save it as a type1 MIDI file.  If you have soundblaster and the Creative Play Center, then bring it into the play center and hit the "REC" button which will save the song as an MP3 file.  Then "Easy CD Creator" or "MP3 CD Doctor" (a free download from downloads.com) will transform it into a CDA file and burn it to a CD.  Voila, a CD with your NWC music on it.

There's probably an easier way to do it, but I was just playing around with some programs I have and this was the result.

Well, with my setup, I can just have NWC play the song and record it with a wave editor that came with my burner. I save as WAVE though because mp3 seems to cut the quality too much, and I'm lucky enough to have a 20 gig hard drive to play around with...

Yep, that's another way to do it if ya don't mind having several hundred megs of .wav files hanging around :-)  I've got a bunch of audio programs like 'play center', 'musicmatch jukebox', and a bunch of others hanging around and was just playing around with 'em.  I can have a song in NWC format, .wav format, MIDI format, MP3 format, etc.  MP3 CD Doctor seems about the quickest and easiest to make a CD with, but it requires that you have your files in MP3 format.  If you set your program to record at 192 bps you get CD quality in an MP3 (or at least close enough that I can't tell the difference). ('course the file is a bit larger).
