Mallet Rolls 2001-07-23 04:00 am Is there any way to write a mallet roll on Noteworthy. When you have three slashes through the stem of the note? Hopefully I won't have to write them on with a pen after I print them out. Also can Noteworthy play a mallet roll wothout me writing all the notes out on a hidden staff?ThanksLee NuckolsBMEMurray State University Quote Selected
Re: Mallet Rolls Reply #1 – 2001-07-24 04:00 am To answer your first question - Yes, NWC can notate the slashes for percussion rolls / tremolo. The catch is that you have to have a special font for the roll symbol. Never fear, because the Scriptorium is here - NWC ScriptoriumDownload the font called "Boxmarks" and you should be able to find the symbol you wish to print. You'll have to figure out which key it is, but once you know then just insert text and change the font to Boxmarks. As for the sound of a mallet roll, you would have to write the notes out on a hidden staff. This takes very little time if you cut and paste the roll instead of actually typing in every 32nd (or whatever). Hope this helps, I'm tired and I think I have the flu :-j Quote Selected

Re: Mallet Rolls Reply #3 – 2001-07-30 04:00 am OK, I had the same problem. I already downloaded the boxmarks.zip file. Now, after unzipping it, what should I do in order to integrate it to the fonts of NWC. Or should I just copy it from the font file and paste it into the NWC file? What is the procedure? Re: Mallet Rolls Reply #4 – 2001-07-30 04:00 am Briefly... Control Panel --> Fonts --> File --> Add New Font. There's also a Boxmarks.txt file in Boxmarks.zip that should help. Quote Selected
Re: Mallet Rolls Reply #5 – 2001-08-11 04:00 am The font I prefer for tremelo effect is in the NoteRow font, also available at Scripto. It is my preference because it is bigger and centers in the note step better than the box marks version. Quote Selected
