Using Media Player files in NWC

I know that you can load MIDI-files into NoteWorthy Composer, and then edit and print the score. With the MS Windows Media Player for example, you can copy your CD's to your computer's harddisk. I would like to use my favourite music in NWC as well. The only problem is the fileformat: Media Player uses WMA-files.

Does anyone know a site where I can download a utility-program which converts WMA-files into MIDI-files (or NWC-files)?

WMA files are audio files, similar to WAV and MP3 files. Although some will tell you that it is possible to convert these type of files into MIDI files, in general it is not really possible. You can look through this forum for past threads on this topic. No there isn't. Here is why:

MIDI is a thing where the computer knows exactly what notes are being played.

WAV, MP3, WMA, etc., are all just sounds that have been recorded.

You can't always convert sound to music. Record yourself talking, and try to convert that to music. The computer can't do it and neither can you. To us, we can hear different pitches on WAV and MP3 and whatnot, but the computer cannot. Just like we can understand many different accents of the same language and can understand many different people who speak the same language, but the computer can only understand one specific voice at its own unique specific wavelength and frequency.

Sorry, guess you'll just have to work on your transcribing skills.
