transposition

I am changing the key in one of our band arrangements to suit our vocalist. The original arrangement is in G changing to Ab and she wants it in F changing to Gb. Now I have copied all the parts and when I come to move the bass part down a tone, the part is rewritten in F changing to F#. I realise that soundwise Gb and F# are the same but I would like him to be in Gb the same as the piano. Do you know of a simple way to do this ??

1. select the staff
2. force accidentals (Tools/Force Accidentals, or <alt>t f)
3. edit the F# key signature to change it to G-flat
4. audit accidentals (Tools/Audit Accidentals, or <alt>t c)

This should do it. Note that if the staff contained courtesy accidentals (accidentals that are not strictly necessary but were inserted as a hint to the performer), then "Audit Accidentals" will remove them and you'll have to put them back by hand.

Oops. Step 4 should be "transpose 0 semitones", not "Audit accidentals".
