My Roland JV-1010

If you own one of these, you know how useless the manual is. I'm having trouble getting everything working. When I change the instruments in Cakewalk, the name of the instrument in cakewalk and the sound that comes out do not match, unless the JV-1010 is set to general midi. I'd appreciate any ideas on how to know what I'm changing instruments to if I'm using patches or other settings.

Goto Lilchips.com and download the patch match editor for jv-1010
I use mine with cbase. (on the rare occasion i can be bothered to play with due to it's uselessness!!!!!!

This may be a bit late for my 2 cents, but you can tweak the Cakewalk .ins file from LilChips to fit the format of ntwpatch.ini and select all patches and drum kits from within Noteworthy Composer using Bank Select messages. It works great with my JV-1010.
If the reader is interested, email me offline and I'll mail you a copy of my ntwpatch.ini.

I'm trying to determine, certainly not from the manual, if I can save selected patches into the USER group from various other groups to avoid the hassle of accessing each one individually manually from the unit. I have a Midi Mouse pedal that will allow me to sequentially access patches say a group of 1 thru 10 in lieu of a bigger programmable midi foot controller board. Can this be done with the JV-1010??
