STAFF

Hi everybody,

Is it possible to return the staff to a next line ?

Can we modify a note in a chord without erasing the chord ?

How can I add instruments ?

Can you give me example of your own creations ?

Thanks, Nico

In order:

- Insert | Bar Line (Decorated) | Force System Break

- Edit | Remove Chord Note (Ctrl+Backspace)

- Staff | New Staff adds staff parts, Staff | Staff Properties can be used to assign instruments, and Insert | Instrument Patch can be used to change instruments inside the staff

- NWC comes with some song samples. Many more can be found via the links on our web site.

It may be useful to point out that there is a difference between what you see in the Edit (default) mode and what you see in printouts or Print Preview. NWC is *not* a WYSIWYG editor. During editing, each staff occupies a single line only that must be scrolled left and right once it gets wider than the edit window. There is no way to fold a staff so that it occupies multiple lines in the window. When NWC prints (or Print Previews), however, the lines are then folded more or less the way you would expect.

The "Force System Break" feature that NoteWorthy Online mentions is a way to override the default folding behavior for printing, but has no effect (other than displaying a little gray "paragraph" symbol) while editing.

About the chord editing;

You'll need to move the cursor to the appropriate position (onto the line or space where the desired note of the chord stands) for Ctrl+Backspace to work. BTW, -unfortunately- you cannot remove a rest which is a chord member without deleting the whole chord.
