Forcing Carriage Returns in Lyrics

I would like to print some songs with each new lyric line starting on a new line like this:
(staff notation)
Row, row, row your boat
(staff notation)
Gently down the stream.

The only way I can even get close to this is by varying font and staff sizes, but this gives generally unsatisfactory results. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Your best option is to join the 1.70 beta test, which includes a system break option on bar lines.
