Track splitting.

I have been unable to use the track splitting function, where a recording is split onto separate staves according to pitch ranges. On the Staff / Import Recording dialog, the Track Number field will not accept any value except zero.

I am recording to 'Buffer Only'. I have tried changing the Options / Import / Track Splitting Options, to no avail.

My MIDI keyboard is assigned to channel 1. My sound card is an AWE64. I am using NWC 1.70 beta 2H.

What am I doing wrong? Have I misunderstood what this function does?

The track number will always be zero, since only one track can be captured at a time by NWC during recording.

After you have recorded your performance, each invocation of the Staff | Import Recording will import a new staff into your song, based on that recorded performance. You can vary the pitch range to import muliple staves, usually for creating a left and right hand part of a single piano performance.
