If you're using version 1.31, you press the

If you're using an earlier version, you should probably upgrade.

Basic questions are answered rather well in the NWC help file.

No-one answers basic questions when it comes to computer
sound (or so it seems). I'm a bassist and I love NWC
because I don't have to be a Keyboards/synth player to
write music on my computer. I too, would like to add new
sounds to my instrument list but what is a bank? Is it a
collection of patches? What is the difference between a
patch and an instrument? What is a channel? Is it the
same as a track? What's the difference. What is polyphony?
How does all this relate to the "voices" my sound card is
supposed to have. The real question is 'Where do I learn?"
