Re: beam button Reply #1 – 1999-12-24 05:00 am You have to select some notes to beam(or unbeam) first.NWC does not enter beamed notes only unbeamed ones. Then you have to select the group to be beamed and the beam tool is enabled if the note group is valid for beaming (no intervening rests and durations must be less than a quarter note). You can automatically beam the whole active staff using TOOLS> AUTOMATIC BEAM - NWC does it for you!Hope this helps. Re: beam button Reply #2 – 1999-12-24 05:00 am To add just a bit to what Barry said... I always use auto beam first. However, if you wish to beam groups of three or more, you need to select/highlight those notes and click the beam button twice. This will first remove the beam(s) from those notes and then add a beam to all of those selected. You can also use the keyboard shortcut of ctrl-B instead of the beam button if you wish. One last thing, if you are doing triplets. Select the three notes and beam them together, then click the triplet button. Depending on the range of the notes, you may want to play with stem direction for beamed notes as well. Quote Selected
