Memory lost :-)

Long, long ago I met a score for piano in which the autor, obviously a romantic  ;), wrote "to be played at full strength" and, a few bars later, "stronger".
I don't remember even if it was written in italian ("con tutta la forza", "ancora più forte") or in German.
Maybe it was Schumann or Schubert, but I'm not sure at all. Surely it is a famous one.
Can someone help my memory?  :)

Rich, since you know the opera omnia of Schubert, can you exclude it was him?

I think you might mean Schumann's sonata No. 2 in g-minor op 22, where the first movement is overwritten "So rasch wie möglich" = "as fast as possible", but then contains the instructions "Schneller" (faster) and "Noch schneller" (even faster).

Touché!
Thank you very much, Harald.
Now I understand why I could not find it. I was looking for the wrong words.
Ah, my bad memory....
