Two notes but play only one

I don`t speak english very well, but I`ll try to explain my problem. How do I put two same notes (one after other) and make only the first one be played. In sheet it appears with a legato (I don`t know if it`s the right word to say).

There are two different things -- a "slur" (also sometimes called a legato), which simply makes the notes smoother. The other is a "tie" which connects two notes of the same pitch into a single longer note. Select the first of the two same notes, and press /

Most likely you want "Tie/", keyboard shortcut "/"
