SB Extigy won't work with noteworthy composer....

When i try to use the extigy midi it says "there is a problem with this device that needs to be resolved blah blah"
But it doesn't tell me HOW to resolve it or whats wrong etc...
the extigy soundfonts play when i jst play the regular midis in a media player-- there's only problems when i try to play it on noteworthy...
Any advice?
Ev

As someone who recently made the mistake of buying one, I have to concur. I liked the idea of having all my ports available in a separate box, but USB just isn't up to the demands of a sound card. It's OK for MIDI (though not as good as an internal card), but a non-starter for anything that uses intensive graphics at the same time.

Anyway, Extigy doesn't support Sound Fonts. I presume you mean the built-in instrument voices?

Oh, PS - I haven't had any problems using NWC with my Extigy, such as you mention. Sounds like you need to look at NWC's MIDI settings.

okay so i dont know my terminoligy...
soundfonts, whatever.. i mean using the midi sounds that come with the extigy
yah i looked at the setup...
I think "stay away from noteworthy" might be more accurate than "stay away from extigy"

I had the same problem and started browsing around on Creatives website , I found a driver and firmware update... so far that seems to work better....  although I have to admit that I nearly gave up as well...

OK, now you mention it, I did install the firmware update before I tried using it with Noteworthy, so that might have avoided any problems.

And no, don't stay away from Noteworthy! Don't give up on it just because of a few hardware problems that probably aren't Noteworthy's fault.
