looks different rest sign

Hello,

We have the old song in our dialect (Batak), but when I tried to enter the note in the software, it looks the followings are weird:
1. the rest sign of the 1/8 note is different look
2. the time signature is 3/4, there should be 3 of 1/4 note in a measure, but in many measures if you see in the staff, the are only 2 1/2 value of 1/4 note.

Attached is the note in question, sorry if I do not know how to say it in English

I appreciate if anyone can enlighten me.

Ha! Me too, I'm transcribing an old score and I have the same gliph for the 1/4 rest: it's the 1/8 rest mirrored. ;D
It's not the first time I see it.

Regarding the bar length, I don't see any problem.
Maybe you missed the augmentation dots?

See the third measure, it is the 1/8 note rest symbol, so the measure counts as 2 and a half beat, not 3 beats per measure. Anyway what did you mean by it is 1/8 not mirrored.

On other things, how can I add the Bible verses on the top of the staft/part of the title.

No, it isn't. Look carefully. It's like a 1/8 rest symbol but seen on a mirror kept vertical.
It's a 1/4 rest.

Flurmy, how can we make the verses in 2 lines on the Using PageTxtMaestro.nw and PageTxt.nw., so that it can fit in the page.

Coming late to the party, sorry.

I saw the backwards eighth rest in a band chart from the early 20th century about a year ago.  It's just a quarter rest, written in an old style, I believe. Instead of using Page Text or other workarounds, just use an ordinary quarter rest.
