.BAK files

Whats the difference between the regular NWC songfiles
that I see when Ive saved a song, as opposed to the
BAK files which look like computer code?
Ive deleted BAK files and havent seen any change.
Why should I save each song twice, in effect?Takes up
limited storage space, yes indeed.

A .BAK file is a "backup" file, which NWC makes for you. If your .NWC somehow gets corrupted or deleted, you can rename your .BAK file to have a .NWC extension then open it. It should be a fairly recent version of your .NWC file.

The Tools, Options, File tab includes an option that you can use to disable this (not recommended however).
