Playing notes twice as fast

Hello. I have been using NoteWorthy Composer for quite a while now, and I love it. I have one question though. I made a staff with 4/4 Time Signature and I added the notes. Now, I want those notes to be played twice as fast. For example, I want whole notes to be played as half notes, quarter notes as sixteenth notes, and same with the rests. That is for that particular staff though, not the other ones. How would I do that? If possible, could I just change the tempo of that particular staff and not affect the other ones? If so, how? Thanks.

Select everything that you want to change and press - (not_).
This should cut everything in half.

JJ is right on, however, you'll probably also want to do an "audit bar lines" after you change the note values.

Fahim,

I'm not sure if JJ and chris have answered your questin or not.  It might help to know what you're trying to accomplish - a written sheet of music, or a midi sound file?

One way or the other, if you have 8 bars on Staff 1, with the melody related to the chords written on Staff 2 and 3, you will have a problem if you shorten the notes in Staff 1 only.

It comes in very handy when you want to use augmentation or diminution of your theme/motive.
If only there were some way to achieve inversion this easily...

You could try my MIDI Expander at the Scriptorium
http://nwc-scriptorium.org/helpful.html#MIDI

It is a bit lumpy (being a DOS program) but you can do a mirror around a pivot note as well as other interesting things. But be sure to read the text file in the zip.
