How to apply soundfont/bank (SB Live 5.1)?

I have just got a SB Live 5.1 and have downloaded my first soundfond (Joshua_Melodic_Trumpet.SF2) from http://www.hammersound.net.
In "SoundFont - AudioHQ" I have loaded "Joshua_Melodic_Trumpet.SF2" and under the folder tab it appears as it now appears as "Synth - Melodic Trumpet".
But how do I use this in NoteWorthy? I have pressed F2 and now I want to hear this "Melodic trumpet". Under the folder tab "Instrument" I have checked "Select a patch bank" but how can I see whether it is "Melodic Trumpet" instead of the normal trumpet.
In "Options I have tried to select "Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth" and the 4 available play devices from "SB Live!" but I hear no Melodic trumpet though I have chosen "Trumpet" under the folder tab "Instrument" in "Properties for staff" (F2).
I am totally lost!

Try not fiddling with Bank Select Patch. Just leave it unchecked and see if that helps.

Also, make sure you use a midi channel that is not Drum.

Finally, in Tools, Options, Midi, you only need Midi Mapper, although you can use SBLive MIDI synth or SB Live Midi UART. I have no idea what the differences are, but they all seem to work for me (I run Win 98)

If these things don't fix you up, write back, but also mention which operating system you use, which settings you have made, and what instrumental sound you think you hear.
