Vertical Staff Printing

I just composed a song for marching band and I don't want to waste paper.  The aren't too many instruments and they can all fit in a page vertically.  However, I don't know how to make NWC print out the music score vertically on paper.  Anyone Know?

I'm note sure what you are asking.

You can change the orientation of the NWC printed page from File, Printer Setup.

In other words, you don't rotate the staffs. You rotate the paper. That the way it's usually done, for most things. It's a matter of printer settings.

I'm not sure what you are asking. Do you want to print a separate page for each instrument or to print all the instruments on one page (conductor score) which will obviously go to a number of pages? - Barry

I think you're saying you want to print two parts on each sheet of paper, and you'll then separate them and hand them out.

I'd suggest printing Part 1, then manually feeding the same sheet of paper into the printer again, with the other end first, to print Part 2.

Assuming the music is small enough to fit in half a page, you'll have two parts on the page, upside down from each other.  But it doesn't matter since you'll be cutting them apart anyway.

To make the music fit in half a page, you can fiddle with the Page Setup, Options, Staff size maybe 8 or 10 or 12?

The other thing to think about is, if you have an inkjet printer, how to keep the music from smudging if it gets wet while playing.  I'd suggest printing your full set of parts on the inkjet as outlined above, but keep those as masters.  Then hand out (and cut, of course) just photocopies.  The image won't smear.
