pedal markings

I don't like the pedal marks that come with NWC and don't care about pedaling for midi purposes. I am only interested in the printed score.

I want pedal markings that look like |______/\_______/\______/\__________________| sorta kinda. I know I could do it using text expression insertion, but this seems just horribly cumbersome. Is there any better way?
