transposing a piece of music 2000-01-03 05:00 am Please,I am a complete newbie and know very little about musical theory.I play Irish traditional music on the penny whistle, which has only six holes. My understanding is that the when blown the sixth hole represents a D, ie the space immediately below the staff.Sometimes I come across pieces of Irish music that extends down below the staff to B or A.Can Noteworthy transpose this music upwards so that I can play it on my whistle and how is this transposing done automatically ?thanks joe mc cool Quote Selected
