General Discussion / Lyric Fonts
Is it possible to change the font within a lyric  (for example a bold font)?
Also change the font of a subsequent lyric line to "italic"?
It seems at present that you can only select one font for all lyrics in a song.

General Discussion / Re: Enharmonic Spelling - Note Entry
If I was using an actual midi keyboard, the program would do it differently?  If so shouldn't the same apply for note entry using the piano toolbar?  If not could there possibly be a toggle option to choose either sharp or flat for accidentals, when there is no key signature?

General Discussion / Re: Enharmonic Spelling - Note Entry
I am using the Piano toolbar with the mouse.  What I am asking is there a way for the program to select Bb and not A# when there is no key signature. If I select Bb on the piano the program chooses A#.  Is there an option to choose flats or sharps in this instance.

General Discussion / Enharmonic Spelling - Note Entry
Is it possible for Noteworthy to favor flats over sharps in note entry? It seems the default is to favor sharps. For example in the Key of C if I want B flat, or D flat etc.  How do I get the program to select these notes as opposed to A# or C#.  Is there an option to toggle this default?

General Discussion / Re: Positioning accidentals
If your intent is to tuck an accidental above/below a second interval, extra note/accidental space won't help.
Text can be used if you don't care if it highlights during playback. A layer is needed if you do:

Thank you, I have reviewed this and the sample you sent.  It is another option to achieve the desired result.

General Discussion / Re: Positioning accidentals
Select a note/chord and then Cntl/E. One of the options is "Extra Accidental Spacing" in addition to "Extra Note Spacing".  This comes in handy when notes/chords on different staves are layered and the accidentals or notes are on top of each other.  If you download the first attachment from this thread, this page fixes the note collisions upstairs and accidental collusions downstairs.
I have not encountered this particular problem thus far.  However if it should happen I will refer to this thread.  Reply #1 seemed to address my issue.   Thank you for your help.

General Discussion / Re: Positioning accidentals
Placing a spacer ("Ins" key) before a note will move both the note and its accidental in the same direction.  (It will also move everything else in front of the spacer, however, so some care is required.) The adjustments on the "Notes" tab of the "Properties" dialog are primarily there to adjust the note in relation to notes in the same chord but on different layers, so that the chord and its accidentals will line up properly.

Thank you!  However I found that the spacer will only work at a bar line.  So I added an invisible bar line (excluded from count) before the note and then inserted a space. Since it allows increments of .25 I was able to position the note and accidental so that it lines up properly with the layered staff.

Thanks again for the tip.

General Discussion / Positioning accidentals
When adding extra space to a note with an accidental, the accidental does not move with this manual adjustment. The same happens if extra space is added to an accidental.  How do you get the note and its accidental to move?  (This is horizontal movement)

General Discussion / Re: Lost audio after upgrade
I received a response from Noteworthy.  Midi Mapper is not supported by the system in Windows 8. and 10.   Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth must be selected.  I am using windows 7 at the moment but I needed to make the change.

General Discussion / Re: Lost audio after upgrade
I also got an alert message which read "um2 midi" in port failed.  On my lap top I got a similar message that reads The "USB2.0-MIDI" in port failed.    These are drivers to use a midi keyboard, but I have not be able to get them to work, so I input from the Piano Toolbar.

General Discussion / Re: Lost audio after upgrade
Thanks for the response.   I have checked the volume controls and they are all open.  I get an error message that says one of more of my devices failed to open, and when I check the midi options it only shows Microsoft Midi Mapper in the selected column.

General Discussion / Lost audio after upgrade
I recently downloaded the newest upgrades.  Now I have no audio on note input or on playback.   I did not have this problem before the upgrade.  Can anyone help?   I have looked in the tools option for record and midi and I cannot see a problem.

General Discussion / 1st and 2nd ending printing when staff is invisible or collapsed
How do you set up a descant line with 1st and 2nd ending so that it prints.  The descant actually appears after the 1st and 2nd ending.  (For example descant is  measure 40, but special endings are at measures 25 & 26) The staff is invisible or collapsed up to that point.  However since it is the 1st staff the special endings do not print.  How do I correct this.  I thought layering would work, but I am having difficulty figuring it out.

General Discussion / Re: No Midi Input
When you go to Tools > Options and go to the Record tab, is there a device chosen for Input Device? If not, when you click the drop-down arrow, does it let you choose your UM-2?

Disclaimer: I haven't used MIDI input in a very long time, but this is how I remember setting it up. This was "back in the day" when I was using a Gravis MIDI adapter that was plugged into my computer's 15 pin game port (okay, I'm done with nostalgia mode now.)

Let us know if this works for you.

Mike

Thank you Mike for the response.  However I did have UM2 selected.  I have also tried the registry fixes I saw online in other forums with no success.  I am very cautious about accessing regedit.   I have switched the cables just in case still no success.

General Discussion / No Midi Input
My computer does not seem to recognize midi input from my computer.  When I play a note from my Yamaha Keyboard, and then Import recording I get the message there is nothing to import or nothing in the buffer.  I select open in a new window and I get nothing.  I used to be able to enter notes in a step method, however not I cannot.  I have checked other forums, but have not received a fix. There are others that have had this same problem.  Windows does know that the usb interface is connected. I am using Edirol UM-2ex windows 7 64 bit version drivers. Windows says the UM2 is ready for use.   Is there anyone that can help with this problem.
