Importing rests with a quarter note resolution

Dear friends:

I can understand the meaning of importing a MIDI file
with a resolution of 32nd notes, which is a very high
resolution for me to play my saxophone {;-) . However,
what is the meaning of importing rests with a quarter note
resolution ?. Does it means that no rests with a duration
lower than a quarter note will be shown in the score ?. If
so, what are the adventages and disadventages of this
setting ?.

My understanding is that changing the rest duration will alter the LENGTH of notes.
eg. A note of 3/4 normal duration will get "rounded" up or down, (or left the same) depending on the rest duration.
Compare this with note duration which if made too large will scrunch runs of notes into chords.
For MORE help, use the right mouse button on the note and rest duration fields of the Options | Import dialog.

The rest resolution determines how small a rest will be employed by NWC to maintain a staccato effect on a note. In other words, how small of a rest are you willing to accept in a performance. If a part contains small 16th notes of silence between notes, do you really want to see these? If not, set the rest resolution to something larger.
