Beaming Notes in Barbershop Arrangements

Each part must be put on a separate staff.

Top staff - tenor (all tails up)  next staff below - lead (all tails down)  next staff below - baritone (all tails up) next staff - Bass (all tails down)

Beam the notes while in single voice/staff mode.

Layer staff 1 (T) onto staff 2 (L).  Layer staff 3 (Bar) onto staff 4 (Bass)

Should do the trick.  This is basic procedure only and you might have to deal with changing accidental/note positions to get a proper printout.

Arrangements for ladies barbershop (Sweet Adelines) have the Bari and Base parts on the lower stave written an octave below the true pitch. If written at true pitch there would be too many ledger lines and overlaps, making the score unreadable.
Is there any way to make the transposed lines play back at the true pitch?

You can get the whole staff to play back whatever pitch you want.  Use F2 and the instrument tab.  12 semitones is an octave.

This would affect all the notes in the staff - both voices.  If you only want to transpose one voice, you can put it on a separate staff and layer it under the original.  Again, F2, but this time, the visual tab.

There's that... but you can also change the properties of the clef. Shift Octave: None / Up / Down. In barbershop, you would need Shift Octave Up.
The bonus is, that you will see it in print: the little 8 over the clef.
