MusicMatch Jukebox is one way.

You can also use SynthFont (FREE) from !www.synthfont.com
This software uses soundfonts stored on your hard drive to render a MIDI file in real time or to a wav file.
You don't need a soundfont enabled card to use it.
Different soundfonts may be assigned to several tracks or you can use a default soundfont for all tracks.
Download soundfonts from !www.hammersound.net

OR

If you use Nero 5+ to burn CD's the Nero Wave Editor can be used to record MIDI playback from NWC.
You must have MIDI (or Wave on some sound devices) enabled for recording in the System Mixer.
And I guess your sound device must be full-duplex.

Open both programs side-by-side.
In the Wave Editor select Audio then Record.
The recording controls are displayed in Pause mode.
Playback a score in NWC and watch the Level meters respond.
Adjust as necessary.
When ready - press the red Record button in the wave editor and playback the score again in NWC.
When playback is complete hit the Pause/Stop button in the wave editor then OK.
The waveform should appear in the editor.
Select any leadin or runout at the ends of the wave and cut these to trim the file.
Select the entire waveform and use the Volume > Normalize function to boost the dynamics to around -3db.
When your happy Save As - wav, mp3, aiff or vqf - your choice.

Can this program also convert mp3s to midi then? Because I have wanted to do this for a while, just because some midi files of songs I have come across have wrong notes at some parts and so the midi sounds bad, and I can't figure out what to change the notes to by myself. I have an mp3 of the song, and I need to convert the mp3 to a midi so I can input that into Noteworthy and get the correct notes. If the program previously mentioned cannot do this, can someone recommend a program for me that does?

By the way, to Barry:

Thanks for the hint on SynthFont, http://www.hammersound.net.

Have downloaded it and am going to see if maybe I can get my laptop to sound better with some soundfonts. Its internal wavetables were created by someone with a Tin ear.

Quick thanks to Hugo for the suggestion. As it happens, I had already stumbled across http://www.sf2midi.com/ and fully agree with the recommendation. It is a very good site with lots of fonts.

Haven't heard from Barry Graham in a long time.
Is it a coincidence he came back on the first day of Spring?
He must have been hibernating.
Maybe he should be Bear E. Graham...

Barry came back on the first day of fall, not spring, in the northern hemisphere.

Or is Barry in Australia? If so, you're right; sorry about that.

Spring here is the first of September !!

Really? You don't mark the seasons to coincide with the solstices and equinoxes?

(Nice to see you're still around, Barry.)

Wasn't that England's idea of punishment, a century ago?

That was two centuries ago - but in the words of the song - "Who's Sorry Now".
