Midi file importing 1999-05-13 04:00 am Now I know that NWC is not the conventional music score midi whatever-computational-mumbo-jumbo-you-wanna-call-it piece of programming used to write and play midi music scores but I really would like to see more accurate midi inputs from this baby. What I mean is that I think that NWC does not import dynmaic variances and midi controllers or it doesn't do it in a really successful way because if I play a downloaded midi with Windows media player and import and play the same thing with NWC, boy does it sound different. And if you like doing covers of stuff this can get you into real trouble and can gurge on your time trying to fine-tune the scores. Just a thought. Quote Selected
Re: Midi file importing Reply #1 – 1999-05-13 04:00 am Yes, I would sure like that as well, but since NoteWorthy does not yet support most midi controllers, that would require implementation as well. Quote Selected
Re: Midi file importing Reply #2 – 1999-05-13 04:00 am Further to that, if it even only imported midi controllers 10 and 7 (volume and pan) I'd be a happy camper (camposer?) Quote Selected
Re: Midi file importing Reply #3 – 1999-05-19 04:00 am I'd have to say that the importing of midi file rhythms into NWC is absolutely appauling. The moment you touch something that even suggests triplets, the entire piece is thrown out by double dotted demi-semi quavers. Anything with an syncopation is completely distorted and jerky, not just the playback but the notation. There must be a way to read triplets correctly. Quote Selected
Re: Midi file importing Reply #4 – 1999-05-20 04:00 am [I suppose that "appauling" should be read "appaling"]Matthew, I guess you exaggerate a bit when you say <<The moment you touch something that even suggests triplets, the entire piece is thrown out by double dotted demi-semi-quavers>>...Anyway, there is a solution to read triplets, look at http://www.pcug.org.au/~apurdam/noteworthy.html#macros (Thx Andrew). What is a bit tiring, is that one can't open more than one window on an imported file (which could allow to compare differences when fiddling with note/rest resolution). Go to wish list?NWC is mainly used (afaik) to write scores, and the import part is sometimes tiring to "clean" the score. But the macro recorder (see same link, or scriptorium) IS a great help, since it is always the same mis-writing that occur in a given file.As soon as you have a repetitive thing to do, think of the macro recorder... :-) You'll save hours of work (and not only with NWC)HTH, MAD Quote Selected
