Transposing, without refilling all notes.

Hallo All,

I am sorry in a former item I confused matters.
I used the word "key" instead of the word "clef".
Therefor here again the item with the correct words.

Is there any tool to change clefs e. g. from g clef to f clef, but with the same effect as transposing, in order to make refill of all notes superfluous.
Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Mazzltov.

Hi Mazzltov,
easiest way?  Download and install this user tool:
http://nwc-scriptorium.org/nwc2scripts_kbsc_clef_change.html

Otherwise, figure out the note "shift" required, change the clef from old to new, select every bar on the staff that is to be effected and while holding <Ctrl+Shift> press either <UpArrow> or <DownArrow> the required number of times.

E.G. from Treble (G) to Bass (F) without octave shift you need to move the notes UP 12 times.  Reverse it for Bass to Treble
From Treble to Tenor - Up 8 times
Treble to Alto - Up 6 times.

The user tool makes it much easier...
I plays 'Bones, crumpets, coronets, floosgals, youfonymums 'n tubies.
