To bar or not to bar 1999-02-16 05:00 am I have a question concerning the presentation of the vocal line in a piece of music. I have some pieces where notes of quaver length and shorter are barred in the most sensible way and other pieces where the notes are split according to the syllables of the text, unless there is a slurred note (ie a syllable sung over more than one note). I was just wondering if there is a correct way to present the vocal line in a piece of music. Also, is it possible to automatically undo the barring across the whole stave (the opposite of automatic bar)?Ian Quote Selected

Nevertheless, some singers find it morereadable when the notes are split according to the syllabes.> Also, is it possible to automatically undo the barring> across the whole stave (the opposite of automatic bar)?I am not sure that is possible. We should be able to selectthe whole stave and then unbar all, but I think it doesn'twork because the selection contains quarter, half and wholenotes, and also bar lines (I can't try it right now).Maybe it would be a good candidate for the Wish List. Re: To bar or not to bar Reply #2 – 1999-02-17 05:00 am Actually, this is a bug in version 1.55a. You should, ion fact, be able to select everything in a staff and then clear all beams using the Beam tool. However, this does not work at the moment. There will be a fix coming in the next release.
