Adding chords with rests

How do I add notes and rests together, as in the attachment?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

You have to put the rest in first. Then, position the cursor for where you whant the note and use the key combination CTRL + Enter to put the note into a chord with the rest.  Remember that even though you can't see it, a rest has a stem direction so the rest must, for example, must be stem down and the note stem up.  You cannot have the rest and the note with the same rest direction.

Did not work Rich. But I'll skip those rests. Thanks anyways. :)

Example attached. Two sided beams and chords with rests.

You are getting into more difficult areas here. You cannot beam a rest chord. (This is something that many have been asking for and hopefully will happen sometime).

But again, you have to use layering to achieve that bit . Example attached.
