Maximum Number of Staves

I want to display or print over 32 staves.
How can I use over 32 staves ?

The limit is 255 (256?) staves.
But I doubt any printed score can have so many !
Try to separate your different instruments (more than 32 ???) into different groups, that you can hide/print separately or altogether.

Do not forget that with NWC, you don't have to take care for the layout. You create staves that have an unlimited length, and NWC takes care to display them correctly.

Except for the "50 Vocci Canon", I really wonder what for you'd need more than 32 though ? I'd like to know.

You can use over 32 staves, but can only print up to 32. (This used to cause a program crash, but I think Eric fixed it). When you think about it, 32 is probably more that can fit on a page, anyway.

You will probably run out of paper at the bottom of the page. Either that, or you'll end up with some really tiny print that you can't read.

I just might try it myself, just to see what happens.

Try printing on Legal size paper, 8.5 x 14 inches, which most printers can accommodate. You can get pretty close to the 32-stave limit with a readable font size.

I dunno where to find Legal size paper. Guess A3 would be even much better.
