Reverb 1999-02-17 05:00 am Is there anyway to give a staff a specified amount of reverb without using the sustain pedal? The sustain pedal sustains too much in my case, and it's kind of buggy...it hangs a lot. Any help would be appreciated Quote Selected
Re: Reverb Reply #1 – 1999-02-17 05:00 am This seems heavily soundcard dependent. On SB16's, the "pedal off" doesn't work at all. On my Audiotrix, the pedal off doesn't work if immediately followed by another "pedal on." Yet it works fine if there is an intervening note. (And it's no fault of NWC, I checked the midi-file output to be sure.)Regarding reverb, that's another matter entirely. You need a sound card or synth capable of one of the extended midi formats (e.g. Roland GS or Yamaha XG), and the appropriate editor to insert them into the midifiles exported from NWC. At present, there isn't a way to directly insert such custom controllers into NWC itself. Quote Selected
Re: Reverb Reply #2 – 1999-02-18 05:00 am Bleh, I think the next version should enable that. I've seen many midis where reverb was manipulated on each staff and stuff. Besides, I need it Quote Selected
Re: Reverb Reply #3 – 1999-02-20 05:00 am Close, but not entirely true.Reverb is entirely different than sustain pedal. The pedal is just like a pedal on a piano.. it keeps the note held on for an extended period of time. Reverb on the other hand is basically ambient "echoes" after the note switches off.. Like shouting in a pool and hearing your voice echo around and die away (simple explanation). You don't need a fancy card to support reverb. Most modern soundcards support reverb. Soundblaster 16, AWE32/64 do and these are all standard cards. Quote Selected
Re: Reverb Reply #4 – 1999-02-21 05:00 am yeah, but how do I configure it on NWC if at all? Quote Selected
Re: Reverb Reply #5 – 1999-02-21 05:00 am Currently there is no way to set reverb in Noteworthy composer. Although I've submitted it to the wish list (along with chorus, etc). Quote Selected
