Importing midi - sound level of parts

I have noticed that when I import a midi piece into Noteworthy 2 or 1.75b the volume for all the parts defaults to 127. This explains why midi songs sound better when played through windows media player. I would have thought that NWC would work with the sound levels in the midi instructions and render them correctly. Is there something that I am missing?

NoteWorthy Composer does not import MIDI for the purposes of playing it back again to sound like the original.  It imports the notes contained in the MIDI file, so that you can develop a printed score.  You will have to go through and assign appropriate dynamics and what-not yourself if you want it to sound like the original.

Maybe not ideal, but I suspect that were it to automatically guess at all the ornaments, you would probably spend just as much time fixing those to your own liking.

Dear Sirs,

Recently I have bought license of your software NoteWorthy Composer. I
like it, it is able to write beautiful notes, to create MIDI and even
Karaoke files.

On your homepage I have read, that you are preparing the release of
2nd generation of your program, so that I would like to send you some
of my proposals to improve existing version of the program.

For instance I see in disability to create fluctuating tones. I would
be very glad to have such function.

Best wishes

I do not speak for NWC software - I am just an ordinary user.

NWC already has the ability to change tones. It is called "multipoint controller."

However, you must understand that the primary purpose of NWC is music notation (sheet music). The secondary purpose is MIDI. There are different programs, called "sequencers," that have MIDI as primary purpose. If your interest is only MIDI and Karaoke, then you should also look at sequencer programs.
