elton john 2005-05-18 10:00 pm does anyone know where I can download some Elton John NWC files? I'm looking for the song Tiny Dancer. I have the sheet music and I was manually typing it into NWC but I couldn't get the measures to line up. I know that means the beat is off, but I couldn't fix it and I know I entered everything just the way it is on the sheet music. I have a hard time finding online places where you can download files for NWC. Does anyone know of any websites for that sort of thing? Quote Selected
Re: elton john Reply #1 – 2005-05-19 01:30 am Such music would be under vigourously enforced copyright restrictions. That's why you can't find it in public locations. I guess that's why they call it the Blues. Quote Selected
Re: elton john Reply #2 – 2005-05-19 07:09 am I would not know... but if your problem is lining up the bars, by all means send the .nwc file, and I will see what I can do.Send to rddenheijerOLD@PAINTversatel.nl (remove old paint before you do... get it?) please. Quote Selected
Re: elton john Reply #3 – 2005-05-19 09:22 pm I actually have a MIDI file called TinyDancer, but when I played it just now,it sounded like a different Elton John song (that I can't place at the moment...).You want I should send that along to you? Quote Selected
Re: elton john Reply #4 – 2005-05-19 10:31 pm EJ: yeah, I suppose you're right about the copyright laws. Most of the NWC's I have are from Ben Folds Five because I was able to find a website that has practically every BFF song available for download. Too bad there isn't a site like that for Elton songs!Rob: I don't have the whole NWC file... I couldn't straighten out the first measure of it while trying to type it in manually so I gave up. Otherwise I would email it to you. Thank you anyway...Dwight: Sure. Can you send MIDI files by email? I'm not too familiar with them, actually. You can email it to kelly @dirtgirl.cjb.netI was trying to find the site where I got the sheet music from in the first place, but I can't. I did find a copy of the first page which is actually quite different than the one I have. http://g.sheetmusicplus.com/Look-Inside/large/WB-PVM00144.jpg Quote Selected
Re: elton john Reply #5 – 2005-05-20 03:25 am Also, see the current forum thread about finding MIDI files. NWC can open MIDI files and convert to notation. The arrangement probably won't be the same as in original sheet music (becuase MIDI is not sheet music). However, if you want to know "what is that note?" it should do the job. Quote Selected

Re: elton john Reply #7 – 2005-05-21 08:09 pm How do you do that, Reg?It's very easy, mum. You make up a tune in your head, and then you play it with your hands.(Reginald Dwight allegedly said that when he was very young. So if you remember, you are him?) Quote Selected
