Electric Piano sound to WAV

Can somebody please help me?
I have an electric piano hooked up to my computer and when I record I get MIDI files.  I want to convert these to WAV files so I can mess with them in MAGIX Music Maker Delux 2005.

ALSO
For anyone familiar with the MAGIX program,
Is there a way to play/record right from my electric piano to that program?

If you play back the midi file on your computer, you should be able to use your sound card to capture the music as a wav file.  Search this forum for "midi to wav."  It's been thoroughly explained from time to time.

Can't help you about the second question, sorry.

I have used a much older version of Magix. I found it quite difficult to use, not very user-friendly.  I don't know if the 2005 version is any better.

Anyway, the easiest way for you to record your wav files is to connect a lead from your headphone socket on the Keyboard/Piano into the 'Line input' of the soundcard on your PC.

You can then use Magix. I am sure there will be a very good wav recording program there. It's just a case of setting the recording options, using correct device setting etc. With the program open, click on 'Help'. You should get some info there, although in my old version this was very sparse, also sometimes difficult and amusing to follow.

To be honest, i gave up on this OLD version of Magix. I looked at other possibilities and found a better program for single channel recording.  The program i use for this is Goldwave, located at www.goldwave.com it is not free, but there is a free trial, i believe.
If you look, i am sure you will find plenty of free programs available.

This is the way to produce wav files, but these cannot be used with Noteworthy Composer, which requires midi files.

I use a program called Ripvinyl to convert any sounds going through my PC into WAV files. It can be downloaded (www.ripvinyl.com ) for $10.95 and is well worth it being easy to use and effective
