Automatic Stem Articulations

I've finally found out what the stem articuations feature does, and it solves a few problems I was having with the articulations being in all the wrong places, but now I would like to know if there is any way to turn this feature on so that it will happen automatically when you enter an articulated note.  Is this possible?  It would be really nice when I'm putting in choir music that has stems up/stems down in the same staff for two different parts.

Thanks,

Bruce R. Kyte

That goes for tie/slur directions as well.

Thanks

I've found that layering can help.  I sometimes have one staff for notes that must always have stems up, one for always-stems-down and a third for it-doesn't-matter stems.  I fill in the unused section of each staff with invisible whole-bar rests.

The always-up staff also has ties and slurs that always need to be up. etc

Then after I have finished, and done whatever automatic bar lines, beaming transposing etc, I simply select the whole staff and edit the note properties for everything.

You could extend this idea, and have a staff for notes that must have stems up and articulations on the stem, another for always down stems with articulations down, etc.
