Staff line disappear on screen

I just installed a 1.7b upgrade on my computer using Window XP. Everything seems to work fine but after the first few bars the staff lines disappear off the screen. The print preview still shows them but they are not present on the screen. Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how to fix it? I tried unistalling and reinstalling but the same thing happens.

Thanks:

Tim

Before trying anything else: See if your computer display driver needs an update. You can use the Windows update feature in Internet Explorer, but it is better to locate the display manufacturer's own web site.

You can try adjusting the display acceleration (My Computer, manage).

Also, try re-boot.

First, go to Tools, Options, choose the Editor-tab, and de-select 'Chase playing notes'.
If that changes anything, there is a speed-problem.
What might be interesting is: do you experience this behaviour with one file/song only, or does it appear all the time? If so, what file, could you post or send it?

Does this happen with the song samples?

If so, try pressing F9 and see if that redraws the screen. You could also try rebooting.

If not, it is probably a consequence of what you are entering. Make sure that you enter bar lines (they are required), and that your bar lines line up in all staff parts.

I have the same problem. The staff lines disappears after the first page, both when a song is played, or if I just scroll to the right. Pressing F9 does not help.

The problem started when I upgraded from Windows 98 to XP.

If the problem started when you changed to XP, then the solution is almost certainly a display driver update.

NWC definitely works on XP.

Check out 2426 from 3 years ago.  The hardware acceleration tab dropped 2 notches did it for me - FINALLY.  Thanks everyone!
