Bends and Glissandos 1998-04-29 04:00 am Is there any way to import bends and Glissandos from midi files? Is there any way to create a long bend up or down? (like more than 2 note values) Quote Selected
Re: Bends and Glissandos Reply #1 – 1998-04-29 04:00 am It is impossible w/ the current version for glissandos, as for the importing of the pitch bend, I do not know.I do know how to make the pitch bends wider... in fact, I can have a pitch bend up to 2 octaves above originalpitch!! 'laughs' I do not know how to put these controllers in w/ Noteworthy, but I will put the numbers on the next message(have to find the sheet) Quote Selected
Re: Bends and Glissandos Reply #2 – 1998-04-30 04:00 am Joe's right. Normally, pitch bending from -8192 to +8192 will only do 4 semitones, as this is the standard used by most midi implementations. However, there is a fairly standard setting one can send to change this (the Global Pitch Bend? something like that). Note that unless you can make the step size small, 16ve pitch bends can sound very chunky. As for glissandi, I always thought they were a series of discreet notes (well, for keyboards and fretted instruments anyway). Is a gliss on a violin (or even a saxophone) one continuous glide? You may be able to twiddle with a series of notes and pitch bends to get a close rendition (as if the violinist is doing a quick tremolo whilst glissing).Andrew Quote Selected
