Delayed Staff 2005-03-30 11:25 pm Is there a way, in Noteworthy Composer, to make one of the staves (such as a vocal staff) not appear for a certain amount of measures? For example, as seems to be very common, you have a vocal with piano accompaniment, but the piano plays a line or two before the vocalist comes in, and, until the line when the vocalist comes in, only the piano staves are visible. Is this possible? Re: Delayed Staff Reply #1 – 2005-03-31 12:56 am I think I've asked this before when I first started using NWC sometime last year. I'm pretty sure there's not a way to do that. In fact, I vaguely remember putting in a wish list request for that. If others here will verify this functionality is missing (just in case I'm wrong), I'd encourage you to also submit a wish list item for this feature.Kevin Quote Selected
Re: Delayed Staff Reply #2 – 2005-04-01 12:14 am This has been requested many times. It is not possible to do it "within" NWC at present, but it can be done (I've done it) with the assistance of something such as MS Word. You would copy metafiles from print preview in NWC, and paste them into a word processing document. Then, you would crop away what you don't need. Quote Selected
Re: Delayed Staff Reply #3 – 2005-04-01 07:37 pm I guess I could have mentioned this in my first reply, but it was late, and I didn't think of it. I usually do my editing of staves using Acrobat. Of course, I'm fortunate enough to have Acrobat 7 on my computer, so I print it to PDF and do whatever editing I need. I tried using the metafiles approach before, and it was a bear. If you have access to Acrobat, that would be a good resource. Unfortunately, it's a little expensive. Quote Selected
