Looking for a composer to do the score for my Low-budget movie

Moon Drop Studios will be going into production of our first full length DV movie mid 2005.  I am advertising this early do to the fact that I am deployed to Iraq.  The early Pre-Production phase in now in effect and what I am looking for here, is a composer.  This is a LOW-Budget movie of about $20,000.00 and the pay will not be much.  The ideal person I am looking for is one who is new and is filed with motivation.  Someone who is looking to get their foot in the door and have their work seen (Heard I should say) in over 20 film festivals around mostly in the U.S. and a few international.  If you are any of this, and feel you can create dark dramatic music for a movie please let me know.  My E-mail is mvallier@moondropstudios.com and our web site is www.moondropstudios.com I can help you, and you can help me.

I'm Prepared, but i need the story telling to me. I Specialise in Ragtime and Jazz. My E-Mail: David@Kendal.cx.

I Might have some trouble with the Double-note bug, but, if so, we'll test it with a performance.

That should be all.

I am interested in this opportunity.  However, I would need to know what the instrumentation would be, what facilities you would have for recording the music, what kinds of musicians would be available, etc.  Would you simply want me to write the scores and hand them over to you for performance?  I write classical music for large and small ensembles and some jazz.  You can e-mail me at jamesphutchins@yahoo.com.

I am interested in your film. I have been making movies since I was 14. I am attending Savannah College of Art and Design to major in it. But anyways, I was just lookin for more info about your production. I score my own films as well. So I could help you with that. email me at
tommy21485@earthlink.net and I will send you some of my songs.

I am working on my third feature right now which I wrote and am directing. The budget was about $6000. It is turning out incredible. It will be about 1hr 40min. Our crew was about 10 on set at any given time. And about 25 or so all together. Reletively small. But it works for me at the moment. Anyway what festivals are you planning on submitting to?

What is your film about? What cameras are you using? Who wrote the screenplay? How are you getting funding?

We're a couple of composers who happen to have a full production studio (and production company) and we're looking for just this sort of opportunity.

We have recently opened our doors to local musicians, in effort to help them get the exposure and attention they deserve, but we've always wanted to score film.  We have some experience working with local film students but are looking for more opportunities.

Our studio is in Colorado, and all work can be provided fully mastered digitally, synced with video or raw.

Because we have our own facility and group of musicians to work with (plus connections with local university's orchestras), we should be able to provide you with exactly what you're looking for.

We are not in this business for the money - we're here because we love what we do.. speak to the world and tell our stories through our music.

If you're interested, please visit our site (excuse its current mess, we're making some much needed changes to the site).  Examples of our work, some of the groups we've recorded and our contact information can be found on the site.

Thanks and great success to you on your film endeavors!

My firm, www.DFWStudios.com, will do pro-bono work for up and coming film makers.

Not only that we will do your film score for FREE, we will sign up some papers whereas the initial release won't require any royalties so long as our credits stay in tact etc...etc...

We currently have several opportunities at our feet, and would like to know further about yours.

Regards,

PS Nothing like getting $10,000 worth of free studio time and original music soundtrack creation....huh?

I contacted Mr. Vallier directly right after this posting.
We were communicating details of the project for a little over a week, when all-of-a-sudden he stopped writing back.
He is fighting overseas (searching for bin Laden or Saddam or both), and I think he just got too busy to follow up on this.
It looks like a few of these replies might provide him with someone more experienced than I am (only one film to my credit), so be patient, folks.  He may contact one of you yet (or has already?).

"Gone with the wind" used Tchaikovsky's piano concerto as a theme. Maybe you could find a public-domain MIDI of Bach's "Concerto for phasers"?

Hello, my name is Mike Wessner and I'm a composer and band leader whose work is along the lines of Bernard Herrmann and would love an opportunity in making the music to this film.  A reason why I would be qualified is because I enjoy dark and dramatic material.  Darker characters bring out more for a composer.  It is easier and more  interesting to create melodic and rhythmic fragments that represent that chacacters' personality in material such as this.  Furthermore, my band writes instrumental music with film imagery in mind.  If you would like a copy of our cd, just email me and I will send one to you.

thanks,

Mike Wessner

I currently am looking to do some soundtrack work. I have a number of samples of my work. I don't care about money right now just for work to pad the resume. I also have a full blown Pro-tools TDM system and plan on moving to an AVID Nitrus sys next year for post prod work.

If interested at all you can email me at
