Spacebar 2005-01-15 01:14 pm The only thing I find hard to get used to is the spacebar inserting rests. So many other music programs are configured to start/stop or pause with the spacebar. I wish there was a way around that. Quote Selected
Re: Spacebar Reply #1 – 2005-01-15 03:21 pm Once you use it a while and get used to it, using the spacebar to insert 'space' (otherwise called rests) into the music is actually pretty intuitive. The programs that use this key to pause and restart playback do so I think just because it is a big, fat, easy to find key... Nothing particularly intuitive about it. After a bit of use and practice, changing keystrokes between programs generally becomes second nature. Quote Selected
Re: Spacebar Reply #2 – 2005-01-15 07:04 pm There are only so many keys on a keyboard. I like the spacebar for rests, it makes them very easy to notate when you touch type. Hit the value on the numeric keypad, then just bounce to the big key without looking. However, I view NWC as primarily for notaton, and playback features are to me, only a proofreading aid. Others use the program to create very sophisticated midi files, and compatibility with other sound producing software might be important to them. Quote Selected

Re: Spacebar Reply #6 – 2005-01-18 09:21 am We'll need a Babelfish to explain this to the rest of the forum.(Mueller... it's really a ü , notated as u followed by e. You are probably confused by Noteworthy, where you have to type the 9 first, and then Enter, to get a sharp.) Quote Selected
