The NWC2 clipboard format is designed to be human-readable and editable as plain text. This allows it to be manipulated by any programming language that can esily manipulate plain text - and such a feature is indeed an add-on to NWC2. But the NWC1 clipboard format was not designed for that purpose (and, of course, is unlikely to be changed!).user111 makes good observations, from time to time. Quote Selected

Not everybody has web access other than plain-text e-mail.But that's the way it is. Quote Selected
