8ve keyboard shortcut

Is there a keyboard shortcut to move the cursor an octave up or down?

Yup, <ctrl><up> or <ctrl><dn> will do it for ya.

For some reason, I have to use ctrl+shift and up or down arrows on my home computer - I've got the 16-bit edition, and it's an old machine. I don't know how I even discovered this.
