feature request: empty and duplicate staff names 2004-12-23 08:50 am why doesn't NWC allow you to have empty and duplicate staff names??? (the message box that prevents you from doing it is redundant) Quote Selected
Re: feature request: empty and duplicate staff names Reply #1 – 2004-12-23 09:43 am The staff names for various reasons ought be different, but there is no reason why the displayed names should not be the same, just put them in the Staff Label field. There was a work round before staff labels were invented - pad the names with hard spaces; but that is no longer necessary. If you open a MIDI file in a MIDI sequencer, you'll notice there are many blank track/staff names. Quote Selected
Re: feature request: empty and duplicate staff names Reply #3 – 2004-12-23 12:29 pm because of the prevention of empty and duplicate staff names, when you import a midi file that has empty track names, NWC adds Staff; Staff-1; Staff-2, and so onif the midi file has duplicate track names, NWC adds trackname; trackname-1; trackname-2, and so on Quote Selected
Re: feature request: empty and duplicate staff names Reply #4 – 2004-12-23 04:35 pm Why not just rename the offending staffs after import? Use F2 for that. Quote Selected
