Newsgroup Problems

Hi guys.  Has anything changed about the newsgroup?  I'm no longer able to post or reply to messages there.  I've recently changed to RoadRunner cable modem, could that have anything to do with it?

I tried this morning (Greenwich time) and it was working (as receiving at last, I didn't try to post. Too much to read first).
Hope you fell on transient trouble :/

Hi there Marsu, well, I can READ everything there, I just can't reply or make a new post.  I'm thinking it must have something to do with the cable modem.  I must have to tell the news program how I'm connecting to the net (no longer with a dial-up modem), but haven't figured out just how to do that yet.

Well, got it fixed.  For some reason my computer thought that it was THURSDAY the 17th instead of Wednesday the 17th.  I got the pop-up saying "441 Article posted in the future".  After assuring my computer that it was indeed Wednesday and not Thursday everything is fine.

Ain't that a weird one?

"Article posted in the future" has got to be the strangest message I've seen.

Hankster, you might check your date settings.  If your computer told you November 17 was Thursday, your computer calendar is probably set for one of 1904 1932 1960 1988 2016 2044 2072 (see http://www.vpcalendar.net/3_Columns/Calendar_12.html)

I'd suggest 1904 because I think programmers chose 1904 as a convention for software.
