When i used a PC i downloaded NWC from download.com, and i use the downloaded version, which works very well(especialy when its free!!).  But i now use a macintosh. is there a free version, or downloadable version of noteworthy for the Mac?  or is there another program like noteworthy that is downloadable for a mac?

First of all, the "free" version of NWC is actually a trial version, for evaluation. It will not work forever, and I believe that there are some difference from the full (not free) version. Keep in mind that if you start composing music using the trial version, the trial will eventually expire.

I do not represent the NWC company, but I do know that from time to time a Mac users asks about that. I am not aware of any Mac plans. Maybe you can find a program specifically written for Mac?

Does anyone know of any for the mac?

The trial version has lasted me at least 2 years.

The drawbacks are that i can only save a peice 10 times,  and there are some other ones,  but with the stuff i write, those dont matter.

Users of Noteworthy Composer (NWC) are Windows users. Maybe someone also owns a Macintosh. But in general, if you are looking for things related to music:

http://www.sharewaremusicmachine.com

Has a lisintg of lots of things, and there is a section for Mac as well as Windows and others. NWC is listed in the "Notation" category.

Most of the programs are (like NWC) NOT free, but may have a downloadable trial version.

The message forum that you are reading is generally for (real) users of NWC. It sounds like your quesions might be better directed to the above-listed site.

Just a few "corrections" from the "Way I See It".

Big Mac is correct. The "free" version of NWC is a trial version. If you like the program, why not support the developer and buy it? The shareware price is way below what you'd pay for Finale etc.

The trial version doesn't have a time-limit, but is slightly crippled (number of saves) and slightly nagware (on printouts). It has been a long LONG time since I've used the trial version, but I believe this is still correct.

If you don't have PC and Windows emulation on your Mac, you won't be able to use NWC. I guess it is beyond the resources of Noteworthy Software to port NWC to other platforms. As Big Mac said, there are other shareware (maybe even freeware) notation processors out there for the Mac. I think there is even a wysiwyg ABC processor available.

Correction: As of 1.75, the 30 day trial period is strictly enforced.
