Boxfont symbols

I've just downloaded Boxfont, and it has some very useful symbols.  But when you're in NWC, how do you access those symbols to insert them?

In Page Setup, Fonts: set User Font 1 to the Box font. Then, insert the Text Expression, and set Display Font to User 1. Simply insert a b c d e A B C D E to see what that translates to, then determine what you want, and enter that letter (or expression).
There are more threads on this subject, and sample .nwc files exist, but this should be enough to get you started.

As long as I'm at it, Boxfont has tremolo symbols (diagonal dashes).  For example you can write a quarter note with three dashes through the stem to indicate that the quarter note actually means eight 32nd notes on that pitch.  This is commonly used in string and percussion writing.

But when you insert the symbol before the note, it prints just after the stem.  Is there a way to align the tremolo dashes with the stem?

Just to clarify, I know you can write out the tremolo in a hidden staff, so that it will play on your sound card.  What I'm looking for is a way to notate this on a performing score.

Select the symbol
Control + E
Choose the 'Expression Placement' tab
Set 'Justification' to 'Center'
Set 'Alignment/Placement' to 'at next note/bar'
Then hit OK

as long as we are on this subject of boxmarks, what is the best size font to place them at?

To get the multi-bar rest to work the font needs to be about 2/3rds to staff size.

I have an orchestra part that has the letters A B C ... X Y Z Aa Bb Cc Dd and Ee.
How do I do this with Boxmarx?  I get A in a box and a symbol.  I need Aa in a box together.
Help, please.

That can't be done.
The upper case letters in the font produce that letter and it's box.
Lower case letters produce articulations.
There is a limit to what will fit in a font.

You can, however, use numbers alone up to whatever limit.
Use the curly brackets (next to P key) and Shift/ 0-9.
The brackets create the box ends and the Shift/No enters the number and the top and bottom frames of the box.

So you options are:
Letters up to Z and Numeric rehearsal marks for the rest.
OR
Use Numeric Rehearsal marks throughout (these could be measure numbers).

Personally I prefer numeric rehearsal marks based on measure numbers but then my charts don't have to conform to someone else's rules.

I prefer numeric rehearsal marks based on measure numbers also, but I'm talking about published parts that were handed out at rehearsal that already have those letters on them.  I always remake my parts, for various reasons, the main one being that these old eyes can't read ink that has turned grey on paper that has turned yellow - I just can't focus.  I need black on white.  Period.
